Sunburn Prevention tips... Be aware of plant orientation to the sun. We have to get our plants used to the sun gradually so we don't burn them. Be sure to keep them in the same direction for the summer months. Some tips to prevent sunburning your plants: Keep your plants evenly watered. Watch when trimming trees and bushes. Refrain from pruning plants that are shading your cacti. If rooting cuttings in the sun, it might be wise to keep a close eye on them. If they start to lighten up on the west or south you might have to cover the cutting with shade cloth, for this summer. If you wish to change the orientation or location of your cacti, do it while the weather is still cool you can move plants, this way they will acclimate and build new callouses toward the hot summer sun.
