I'm hearing once again of those pesky ANTS! I have them to, and also wish there were lots less of them. We need to have a few for our friends the lizards eating enjoyment.
Maybe if we can cut down the number of them, there won't be as many mealybugs around for them to "farm" for lack of a better word. Yes, they work as a team those dynamic duos. Ants will move the mealy bugs around to better food supplies in exchage for the mealybug to excrete a sugary snack.
I use "Ant Killer" granules. Either sprinkle a little in your potted collections or around a plant that has that nice ring of fresh ant hill dirt and water lightly. The mounds that seem to be either harmless or not in a walkway I leave for my friends the lizards. We will never win the fight, but we can even the score!
