This species has been our most popular every year we have offered plants on the web. They bloom reliably in the late fall with shades of pink and a large variety of bloom size. Plant them a little higher in your pots than the soil line from their desert beginnings. You can cover any part of the exposed root with a coarse topping to keep it firmly set and to minimize the area that is exposed to rot. Many of these thick rootstocks neck in where the leaves emerge and this is a likely area for rot to begin. We have found rooting this Ariocarpus to be very easy but we do follow our own advice.
